She is originally from Shishmaref, according to where I got the picture from, and Kotzebue, according to a book of Eskimo Dolls. This picture is from the online digital archive, also known as vilda<span style="text-decoration: underline;">.</span> She has made dolls before and this doll has on a seal gut parka, which is waterproof, and seal skin trim. This is what the men and women used to wear long ago to keep from getting wet. There is also willow bark dyed draw string on the hood. The inner parka is made from ground squirrel skin with a mink tail ruff. Mittens are seal skin, with fur inside palm and her outside on back. The pants are also made of seal skin. The mukluks are water proof style seal skin mukluks with ugruk (bearded seal) bottoms and white seal strings. The belt is dyed seal skin and used to keep air from going in. Her dolls are sewn with sinew from caribou.
